The news
The COSARAF Charitable Foundation is pleased to announce a £45,000 grant over three years to Sufra NW London, securing the future of its vital Food Aid Delivery Service for residents across the London Borough of Brent.
This strategic partnership will protect and strengthen the logistics infrastructure required to deliver fresh meals, essential food parcels, and emergency supplies directly to individuals who cannot access food banks in person. Brent continues to face some of the highest levels of deprivation in the UK, with 58.7% of children living in poverty. For many residents, including the elderly, the housebound, and those with serious health conditions, physically reaching emergency food hubs is simply not possible.
Delivering Dignity, Nutrition and Stability
With COSARAF’s support, Sufra NW London will deliver each year:
- 2,300 freshly cooked meals to residents unable to cook due to illness, disability or lack of facilities
- 2,000 food bank parcels delivered directly to guests through staff, volunteers and partner organisations
- 500 NHS emergency food packs distributed across 15 hospitals, ensuring patients are not discharged home to empty cupboards
These interventions provide immediate nourishment while acting as a gateway to Sufra’s wider wrap‑around services, including welfare advice, advocacy and wellbeing support, helping residents move from crisis toward stability.
Strengthening Community Resilience
By stabilising core logistics, including delivery vans, volunteer route coordination and emergency distribution systems, the Foundation’s investment ensures that emergency food aid continues to reach those most at risk of hunger and isolation. This partnership reflects our commitment to building sustainable communities, supporting those in acute need and strengthening grassroots organisations working at the frontline of poverty.

Testimonial
“This generous three-year commitment from the COSARAF Charitable Foundation is a lifeline for some of the most isolated members of our community. While we are fighting hard to tackle the root causes of poverty, there are still hundreds of residents in Brent, from the elderly and housebound to those recently discharged from hospital, who simply cannot access food without our delivery network. This partnership secures our logistics infrastructure, ensuring we can continue delivering not just vital nourishment, but dignity, connection, and hope directly to their doorsteps.”
