Sajida
Sajida joined cycle lessons in Waltham Forest with a specific goal – to manage her arthritis and support her physical wellbeing through movement. As someone living with a long-term health condition, she recognised that gentle exercise like cycling could play an important role in keeping her joints mobile and improving her overall health.
But taking that first step wasn’t easy.
“I was very scared, it took me a long time to learn, but Seema (the instructor) was so helpful and kept me motivated all the way.”
Under the patient guidance of Cycle Sisters instructor Seema, Sajida began her journey slowly but with determination. The sessions were not just about learning a new skill – they were about building confidence and overcoming her fears.
Despite the initial challenges, Sajida persisted to achieve her goal of cycling around independently – and she’s well on her way. She’s now purchased her own bike and is continuing her learning journey.
“Cycling has really helped me, not just physically with my arthritis, but socially too. I’ve met amazing women through the lessons and feel more connected. I’m so grateful to all the instructors who supported and motivated me. Without them, I wouldn’t have come this far.”
