Aami

Ralli making is a traditional form of quilt-making that originates from the regions of Sindh in Pakistan and Gujarat in India, as well as other parts of South Asia. These quilts are typically handcrafted by women, and they hold cultural and artistic significance within these communities.

Aami is a widow with four daughters and worked as a maid in localities in Badin Village (Interior Sindh). She has been given zakat microfinance of PKR 35,000 with which she had bought the necessary equipment for Ralli/Quilt making. She now makes approximately PKR 15,000 monthly from this work. She has a customer base of 12 currently and this is steadily growing.

Her daughters also help her in the making and selling of the Rallis.  Aami and her daughters are now progressing towards expanding their business.
