BSc MEDICINE, DOWNING COLLEGE, CAMBRIDGE
Coming from a family that deeply values the pursuit of knowledge and has always prioritised further education, I am incredibly grateful to have been awarded this scholarship. This support has not only alleviated the financial pressures associated with such a long course, but has also allowed me to continue nurturing the activities that keep me balanced and motivated, including my passion for art and kickboxing. Now I aim to establish art workshops for students within and beyond my college, contribute to welfare events, and promote my college through participating in art competitions. With my black belt in kickboxing, I aim to use my experience to lead dedicated ladies-only sessions that create a safe, empowering space for women.
As a first-year medical student at Downing, I am at the beginning of my academic journey; however, I am driven by a clear vision of the doctor I hope to become. I aspire to be a well-rounded clinician who has experienced healthcare in diverse settings and who can draw together the strengths of different medical practices to provide the highest standard of care.
My mother has always instilled in me the belief that one of the most meaningful ways to give back to your community is through sharing knowledge. Beyond clinical practice, I therefore hope to become both a researcher and an educator—someone who can motivate and inspire future generations of students, passing on what I have learned with the same generosity that has been shown to me.
I am truly thankful for the opportunities this scholarship has opened up, enabling me to pursue my goals with confidence, purpose, and gratitude
