Muhammad Tasmir Aziz
MSc Modern South Asian Studies
Tasmir Aziz is a researcher based in London. He graduated with high distinction in History from Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) before completing the MSc in Modern South Asian Studies at Oxford, where he graduated with Merit and received an Oxford Pakistan Programme Studentship.
His research focuses on South Asian history, law and politics. His Oxford thesis, “The Origins of Outrage: A Historical Inquiry into the Lineage of the Asia Bibi Case,” was awarded a distinction. He has undertaken research roles with Northwestern University, SAGE Publishing, the Research Society of International Law, the Institute of Development and Economic Alternatives, Justice Project Pakistan and the Digital Rights Foundation. He has also presented his research at the 2025 MESAAS Graduate Conference at Columbia University and the 2025 Small Voice of History Conference at Princeton University.
