The news
The COSARAF Foundation is proud to share its Annual Report and Impact Report for 2023/24, reflecting a transformative year of growth, impact, and innovation across the UK, Pakistan, Kenya, and beyond. With nearly 60,000 lives directly touched in 23/24 alone, and accumulative 1.4 million individuals supported since 2018, the Foundation continues its unwavering mission: to build sustainable communities, empower women and girls, and enable young people to realise their full potential.
An Impact-Driven Year of Transformation
This year has been one of unparalleled reach:
- Over 4.6 million meals were delivered to vulnerable individuals through food programmes in Kenya and Pakistan.
- 1,214 entrepreneurs were empowered through business start-up grants and training initiatives.
- 230 hardship grants were issued in the UK alone, addressing immediate needs during the cost-of-living crisis.
- Our Ramadan efforts expanded globally, with a record-breaking 439,535 meals served during the holy month.
- A new Centre of Empowerment and Excellence was secured by our flagship partner, the Fahmida Begum Foundation (FBF), in Mehran Town, Karachi—a vital space set to house education, healthcare, and special needs services.
Spotlight on Innovation and Enterprise
A standout highlight is the partnership with GEAR Trust, enabling over 230 women in Pakistan to achieve self-employment through microfinance. In the UK, our ongoing collaboration since 2009 with The King’s Trust continues to nurture the next generation of entrepreneurs. The Sheikh Family Scholarships Programme also welcomed new scholars and celebrated alumni making waves in journalism, medicine, and education.
Our support extended to critical emergency responses—delivering food and financial aid to families affected by the crises in Gaza and Sudan, reinforcing our commitment to timely and compassionate action.
Thank You to Our Partners and Supporters
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our delivery partners, collaborators, volunteers, and funders. This shared success would not have been possible without the continued generosity of the Sheikh family, the enduring support from Grosvenor UK, and our passionate on-the-ground partners including the Fahmida Begum Foundation, GEAR Trust, The King’s Trust, SEED Ventures, Deaf Reach, Ramadan Tent Project, The Noor Project, Carers Worldwide, and many more across all our operating regions.
Looking Ahead
As we reflect on a year marked by meaningful milestones and profound impact, we are energised by the possibilities that lie ahead. The 2024/25 Impact Report promises even more exciting developments, particularly as our flagship projects in Pakistan expand, and new programmes in the UK and East Africa are set to launch.
