New micro-finance project in Pakistan

The COSARAF Foundation are excited to be partnering with the GEAR Trust to deliver a new project in micro-finance supporting the poor and needy into self-employment in Pakistan.

Generating Employment Alternatives for Self-Reliance (GEAR) is a registered Trust of Pakistan, and registered charity in the UK. Their concept starts with the ideology to provide financial support to skilled and unskilled individuals for their self-survival with honor and dignity.

GEAR not only provides financial support but also helps individuals for the improvement of their livelihood and business income. They aim to achieve long term social stability and business sustainability for the family.  GEAR exists to make concentrated efforts to uplift the socio-economic condition of under-privileged section of the society by facilitating feasible self-employment for them by providing financial support and advice to help them establish the business and make it sustainable.  GEAR’s core activities are Self Employment and Education.

The COSARAF Foundation trustees have been interested in supporting micro-finance delivery as a new strand of our aims and objectives this year.  This partnership with GEAR Trust will allow us to provide self-employment opportunities to the most needy in Pakistan, particularly prioritising the empowerment of women and young people, as per our key themes.
