COSARAF Hosts Fourth Annual Open Iftar at Silverstone Circuit

The news

The COSARAF Foundation was proud to deliver its fourth annual Open Iftar this past Saturday 21 February, in partnership with the Ramadan Tent Project at Silverstone Circuit, bringing together more than 500 guests for an evening centred on community, reflection, and hope.

Known globally as the historic home of the British Grand Prix and one of the world’s most famous motorsport venues, Silverstone provided a truly memorable setting as we welcomed 500+ guests including partners, scholars and members of the public to break fast together.

The Open Iftar continues to be a highlight in COSARAF’s calendar, reflecting the Foundation’s ongoing commitment to connection and meaningful engagement across communities.

The evening programme featured a keynote speech from family member Eesa Sheikh, who spoke movingly on the theme of hope, emphasising that while the Foundation’s work often delivers tangible outcomes such as skills development, education, and nourishment, its deeper aim is to instil hope in the individuals and communities it supports.

Guests also heard a brief introduction to the iDome initiative from Hassen Rassool, offering insight into the innovative work taking place in this space, followed by his moving and powerful recitation of the Adhan.

We were especially honoured to welcome our distinguished guest, Abdal Hakim Murad, renowned scholar and founder of the Cambridge Muslim College, who kindly shared reflections with attendees as part of the evening programme.

We extend heartfelt thanks to the guests who joined us on the evening. It was wonderful to for extended family members to meet with so many people. Special appreciation goes to Seema, our sole trustee present on the night, who generously gave her time to engage warmly and thoughtfully with many of our guests throughout the evening.

As the COSARAF Open Iftar continues to grow year on year, we remain committed not only to bringing communities together around iftar, but to nurturing the spirit of hope that lies at the heart of our work.

We look forward to welcoming you again next year.
