The COSARAF Foundation is pleased to announce that it has extended its funding partnership with the Shamakha Foundation, extending our joint goal of providing critical hardship relief to Kenya’s most vulnerable communities. Through its program, the Shamakha Foundation provides vital food assistance to some of the most impoverished communities in the vicinity of Mombasa, where they endure severe poverty, food insecurity, and the devastation caused by drought.
Our ongoing support allows Shamakha to continue distributing fresh, wholesome meat to approximately 400 people each week through its Qurbani program. Families who would otherwise find it difficult to obtain protein-rich food can now benefit from Qurbani’s year-round benefits, which go well beyond the Eid season. To help those in need in isolated villages like Ndi and Kiriwitu, the Shamakha Foundation also runs monthly food package distributions and daily hot kitchens as part of a larger hardship relief program.
Supporting partners like Shamakha Foundation that are implementing faith-led, significant, and long-lasting projects that directly improve vulnerable communities is something we are steadfastly committed to doing. “This continued collaboration embodies our common principles of empathy, respect, and sustained assistance,” stated our Director, Tashmina “As the Shamakha Foundation continues their incredible work on the ground, we are honoured to support them.”
