Celebrating the Final Imarah Graduates at FBF

The 22nd of July 2025 marked a significant milestone as the final group of participants in the Imarah Programme, delivered by SEED Ventures at the Fahmida Begum Foundation (FBF), celebrated their graduation.

After several months of learning and development, 106 women completed the third cycle of the programme, which focused on Basic Literacy (54 participants), IT Skills (32 participants), and Enterprise Development (18 participants). Each area represents practical steps taken by these women to enhance their skills, improve their confidence, and pursue greater self-reliance.

Rather than simply marking the end of a course, the graduation highlighted the dedication and commitment these women have shown toward improving their own life chances. Whether learning to read and write, becoming digitally literate, or exploring small business opportunities, their efforts reflect a desire for growth and progress.

A representative from SEED Ventures noted that the event marked “a celebration of progress and learning,” and acknowledged the continued efforts of both the programme facilitators and the women involved.

Launched three years ago, the Imarah Programme was created to offer structured learning, mentoring, and support to women from underserved communities. Over this time, more than 250 women have taken part in the programme, which aims to provide not just education but a pathway to greater participation in the economy and society.

For many graduates, this milestone is a stepping stone. With newly acquired skills and improved confidence, they are now better placed to support their households, pursue employment, or build independent livelihoods. As one participant put it, “The sky is not the limit, it’s just the beginning.”
