Hitchin Food Provision is a collaboration of like-minded charities, organisations and volunteers helping people feed their families within the local community in Hitchin. Originally the Hitchin Christmas Community Team formed in 2015 providing food hampers and gifts to families, they expanded their offer in March 2020 in response to the pandemic and continue to help families and individuals with supermarket vouchers and signposting all year round in addition to the Festive Hamper Appeal.

Over the festive period last year, they helped 168 families with hampers including food vouchers and also managed to give every child a gift.

This year, they have seen a very steep increase in referrals and as a group are determined to support all the families who need it. Sadly, now, they are seeing more and more families falling below the poverty line that need help.  Also, many of their families who were just getting back on their feet have taken another knock back with the looming energy bill crisis

The families are all referred by Hitchin Partnership and other professionals who work closely with the local schools, and families.

The Cosaraf Foundation are delighted to be supporting the Hamper Appeal this year, with a donation of £1,000 to pay towards essential sleepwear for all the children in the families receiving hampers, to ensure, when they are home, they are able to sleep warm and comfortably.
