The news

Eco Decor (Team A: Eco Builders)

This team consists of Class 8 students Azhaan, Faisal, Naeem, Iqra Jafar, and Iqra Bisma. They are tackling the environmental crisis caused by 1.5 million tons of annual textile waste and the high cost of home décor. Their solution is to transform industrial fabric scraps into affordable, eco-friendly wall panels and brick tiles priced at a fraction of market rates.

Cool Breeze (Team B)

Representing Classes 6, 7, and 8, this team includes Seema, Sadia, Anees, Areesha, and Asma. They are addressing “energy poverty” in rural areas like Balochistan, where a lack of electricity forces families to use dangerous kerosene lamps that cause respiratory issues. They have developed a solar-powered, off-grid device that provides both LED lighting and cooling via recycled computer fans.

Revive and Shine (Team C)

This team features students from Classes 5 and 7, including Aryan, M. Ali, Adnan, Asim, and Kainat. They identified a massive market gap where abundant plastic and decorative waste pollutes the environment while consumers lack affordable, sustainable gift and utility items. Their solution is a “Waste to Value” model that upcycles discarded bottles, beads, and threads into handcrafted home and office accessories.

Healthy Diet Fries (Team D)

This group includes Mahnoor (Class 8), M. Waqas (Class 8), Seema (Class 6), Adil (Class 8), and Zaheer (Class 5). They are solving the problem of “junk” fast food in school canteens, which offers high oil and fat content but zero nutritional value. They provide a healthy alternative using low-oil cooking methods, seasonal ingredients like sweet potatoes, and innovative nutritious dips.

Elora Dolls (Team E)

Comprising Alisha (Class 7), Alisha (Class 7), Shazia (Class 5), Ali (Class 7), and Farhan (Class 5), this team is focused on the lack of cultural representation in the toy industry. They noted that most dolls do not reflect the identity of Muslim girls, which can negatively impact self-esteem. Their solution is a line of inclusive, sustainable dolls featuring hijabs, regional Pakistani attire, and professional uniforms to inspire young girls.
