Breaking Ground with Mehran Welfare Trust

The COSARAF Foundation are funding Mehran Welfare Trust in Karachi, Pakistan, for two new building projects for the community.

This week, the team from Mehran Welfare Trust visited our flagship partner, the Fahmida Begum Foundation, to share the progress of the groundbreaking model housing and mosque project in District Matiari, Sindh.

The housing project aims to provide shelter and opportunities for income generation to displaced households affected by the devastating floods of 2022, thereby making their livelihoods sustainable.  This project is not only new homes, but offers a school, clinic and mosque for the locals.

A Jamia Masjid is also being constructed to offer daily prayers for 300 individuals, along with Quranic education and other activities.

We look forward to seeing the projects complete in early 2024.
