Zakat donation with the Prince’s Trust impacts young Muslims worldwide

The COSARAF Foundation were delighted to read the impact of a £10,000 zakat donation made to Prince’s Trust International, helping to improve livelihoods of marginalised young people across the globe.

Prince’s Trust International (PTI) were proud to pilot their Zakat administration in 2022 with the valued support of friends, old and new, from the Islamic community. Their Zakat campaign enabled givers to confidently provide vital support to disadvantaged young people in Muslim-majority communities, in accordance with the principles of Shariah.

Thanks to our £10,000 donation, PTI were empowered to help 1,938 young people around the world last year. The Zakat played a huge role in helping them reach more people than ever before.

The new projects delivered as a result of the zakat programme included:

Enterprise Challenge, Jordan – Enterprise Challenge is an annual inter-school competition for young people to develop their life and employment skills, and encourage their entrepreneurial spirit.

Team, Malaysia – Team is an intensive 9-week personal development and livelihood programme aimed at providing second chances to at-risk young people in Malaysia and support them to find basic employment

Project Lehar, India – intervention aimed at empowering disadvantaged young women in rural India.
