The Foundation’s grant will pay for four of the main decorative doors to the prayer hall. Photos here and the link to the Prayer Hall doors pattern show the intricate designs.  Following the commitment to sustainability they have a planned life of over 200 years.

The new Cambridge Mosque is intended to be a neighbourhood as well as a spiritual centre, easily accessible by public transport and on foot, with facilities for formal and informal community group meetings. The Cambridge Mosque Trust does not follow or expect adherence to any particular school of Islam and welcomes worshippers from every part of the Muslim family of both genders.

“Whoever builds a mosque for Allah, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise.”
The Holy Prophet Muhammad
Tirmidhi

Trustees, along with Foundation staff, have visited the mosque on a number of occasions to see the evolution of the building project. They have had a warm welcome from Shaykh Abdul Hakim Murad, Chairman of the Cambridge Mosque Trust.

The new Cambridge Mosque will open its doors to the community in January 2019.
