Shamakha feeds thousands in Kenya for Ramadan

The Shamakha Foundation have long been partners with the COSARAF Foundation, delivering essential daily feeding programmes to poverty stricken communities in rural, coastal Kenya. Annually, we fund them to provide food packages to families during Ramadan and this year, Eid meals were also provided.

This Ramadan, we provided an additional £27,000 of funding to the Shamakha Foundation to support the many Muslims in their communities with Ramadan food packages.

The Shamakha Foundation distribution of 1,200 food packages to families living in hardship in Kenya, provided immediate relief to up to 6,050 individuals. Families were supported in Shariani, Mariakani, Mgalani, Tana River, Mkomani and Malindi. The Foundation also used the funds to provide Eid meals to 850 people in their centre.
