Enterprising Ideas at the ECP Finals 2023

Our staff and trustees were delighted to attend the Enterprise Challenge Pakistan Finals for 2023 this year on 18th February in Karachi, Pakistan.

Our partners, Prince’s Trust International and local delivery partner SEED ventures deliver Enterprise Challenge Pakistan.  This project has been ongoing for several years now and is an educational in-school (although in 20/21 PTI offered a blended online version) delivered program to assist students in Pakistan aged 13-18 to explore the personal and professional skills needed in entrepreneurship.

The finals allowed students to showcase their enterprising new ideas to a panel of judges for the chance of winning start-up funding to get the idea off the ground.

The ECP 2023 Final was held at the British Deputy High Commission, Karachi on Saturday 18th February 2023.

The event was well attended and received wide news coverage and publicity.  Our Pakistan Director, Ahmer Arif, attended as one of the judges for the event.  Our Fahmida Begum Foundation Director, Dr. Idris Sheikh, and COSARAF trustee Rukhsana Sheikh also attended, along with Talib Uz Zaman, Managing Director of FBF.

Rukhsana was delighted to receive the sponsor’s award on behalf of COSARAF and also presented one of the finalist awards to a team.

The event was great to attend, as it was the first face-to-face ECP final after a long time, the excitement within the venue, amongst the young people and adult supporters was palpable.

The pitches by the students were amazing and it was good to see their enthusiasm and courage to come out on stage and present their ideas to such a large audience.

The competition was won by Team Peshawar whose business idea was to provide a transport solution in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province for women by women.

Our valued partners at Deaf Reach School were given the second prize for their enterprise entitled Paper Planet –  congratulations to you all!
