£5,000 boost for local Children’s Fund

Trustees have donated £5,000 to the local Hertfordshire Community Foundation to boost their Children’s Fund.

The cost of living crisis continues to impact local people in Hertfordshire with families struggling to cover their basic living costs including energy and food.  Started in 1996, Hertfordshire Children’s Fund has been providing effective, practical support to disadvantaged children (aged 0-18) and their families in Hertfordshire by providing grants of up to £500 for household essentials such as washing machines, cookers and children’s beds to ensure they can keep their children healthy, safe and clean.

The fund is administered by Hertfordshire Community Foundation and they used to approve approximately 6 applications a week, but with considerable hikes in most household prices, they are now approving around 20 applications a week.

Our trustees pledged £5,000 to support at least 10 local families with funding towards essential items to benefit the children living in their homes. To find out more about the fund, how to donate yourself or how to apply please visit here.
